Superpails from Emergency Essentials

Anyone know what size oxygen absorbers they use? I called to ask and the girl sounded clueless. She said the "standard size". When I pressed her harder she said 10 cc. Using a 10 cc oxygen absorber is like not even using one. Does anyone know if this is correct? There is no information on thier website.

I've read somewhere (?) it is recommended to use 3 to 6 of those oxygen absorbers per 5 gallon pail...

Thats what I've read to, which is why I called them because their website says it packed with an oxygen absorber (as in singular). I thought maybe they had ones that were rated unusually high, but now I'm not so sure. Then again the girl sounded clueless and didn't even make an effort to ask anyone else. I've personally never even heard of 10 cc absorbers for food storage, they are usually 300 or 500 cc's. Their is no "standard size". Either their customer service sucks or they aren't too concerned about the oxygen content in their grains. I guess I'll take my business elsewhere.

I have seen them sold in the 30cc, 100cc, and 500cc sizes.

500cc oxygen absorbers are used in the 5 and 6 gallon pails. Use 2-4 per pail depending what you pack (fine grains i.e. flour or meal, you can use two, three or four if packing pasta).

I get mine from MREdepot or Honeyville Grain.

Hope this helps.

Edited to add: I buy the 02 absorbers and pack my own, I didn't mean I buy the pails from the above merchants. Also, if you do decide to pack your own, use mylar bags in addition to the buckets and 02 absorbers.

Good chance they don't do the packing and thus have no clue.....
